Local Attractions

Shropshire is one of England’s best kept secrets and offers something for everyone to explore and enjoy. The county boasts the Birthplace of Industry with it’s World Heritage site at nearby Ironbridge as well as medieval half timbered towns such as Shrewsbury, Ludlow and Bridgnorth.

The rolling hills of Shropshire rise up to form the steep hills of the Stiperstones in the west, a haven for hill walkers and fold down to the plains of north shropshire to form the meres and wetlands around Ellesmere.

On our doorstep, we have a wealth of local tourist attractions including castles, stately homes, museums, steam railways, ancient mills, the river Severn as well as easy access to modern shopping and antique centres at Telford, Kidderminster and Wolverhampton.

For the sporting enthusiast, we also have a selection of golf courses, bowling greens, tennis courts, swimming pools as well as horse racing at Wolverhampton and Ludlow. To find more information and a complete list of visitor attractions, check out www.virtual-shropshire.co.uk

With so much to see and do, you will need a holiday to get over your break!
