2009 marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of Charles Darwin and Shrewsbury (Darwin's birth place) is celebrating with a series of events throughout the year.
Ludlow's arts festival includes literary events, walks, all types of music, coach tours, a theatrical event and a fireworks finale. This year's festival play will be Romeo and Juilette.
