  Excellent accommodation

We booked two nights and we weren't disappointed, it was clean and comfortable, plenty of room to walk around. Considering we were three couples sharing the accommodation, the bedrooms were large with comfortable beds, definitely coming back.

  Beautiful surroundings

A lovely cosy cottage in set in beautiful surrounding countryside. The cottage was very well equipped with modern facilities.

  5 star experience

Absolutely fantastic. A beautiful room which you cannot fault. Breakfast amazing and great choice. The owner is very friendly and really welcoming. I definitely recommend staying here. Nothing was to much trouble. Keep doing what you are doing

Great place to stay with friends and/or family.

Stayed in Rookery cottage - fabulous place. Super bedrooms, all en-suite with walk-in shower. Great kitchen/dining area and very well equipped. Games room so those who wanted to could watch sport on tv without disturbing others. Spacious outdoor patio with gas bbq and lovely views. All in all a really fantastic holiday cottage. We all loved it so much we have booked to go again in March 2025.

An added bonus is that there are a lot of places to visit within easy reach of Dinney farm cottages.

  Cosy and welcoming

Stayed here as a friend was getting married across the road at the astbury. Was so impressed with the room we stayed in, it was clean, spacious and modern with lovely views from the windows! Breakfast was amazing and the the two lovely people that ran the b&b were wonderful hosts, extremely welcoming and helpful. Would 100% return and would also recommend!

  Perfect large family venue

The Rookery is a purpose built family size property. It is about 6 years old, has 9 en-suite bedrooms (all beautifully proportioned), a large superbly equipped kitchen (though we couldn't find egg-cups!), spacious seating area and a games room. Loads of parking outside - and a barbeque, lots of seating, and a football pitch!
Over the many years we have holidayed as a large family (about 20 of us), this has to be the best venue we have found. The B&B is excellent too. We stayed in both, one after the other.

  Perfect. Perfect. Perfect.

We stayed at the Dinney for my nephew’s wedding weekend. It was a lovely experience. The owners were attentive, kind and absolutely charming. The rooms were lovely: clean, spacious and comfortable. The food was excellent. Couldn’t recommend highly enough.

  Excellent

Stayed in Kingfisher in a group of 8 friends. Superb bedrooms ensuite and large downstairs open plan living. Very nice wood burner with kindling, logs and paper all included. Very well equipped kitchen we cooked a whole roast dinner for 8.
We were even given a home made chocolate cake, which was delicious.

Enjoyable Peaceful Stay with Lovely Walks

We loved our time here - Drake Cottage. Parking space directly outside. The first thing I noticed on walking in was the lemon cake (delicious). Loved the constant sound of birds on the reservoir from the patio and the occasional tit landing on the door handle. I loved the walk at the back with distant views of the reservoir - was particularly nice just before sunset and early morning with noisy geese flying over.

The Drake is very near to the B & B and the garden with benches. This area was beautiful, with plenty of flowers. When I walked in the garden, I was greeted by their friendly dog. There were hens and what I thought were geese but may have been Indian runner ducks.

  fantastic views and dog friendly

Great location, very peaceful and well equipped cottage. Decor a little dated and in need of a fresh lick of paint. We did find the lounge area a little small, especially this time of year when you are staying in more. Large patio area, ideal in summer months, was quite uneven in places. Shame that 1 of the twins bedrooms couldn't be converted to a double. Overall, we think the price was a little high.

  What a find

Had a great stay at the Dinney, stayed in the lakeside room, very comfortable and cosy. Keith and Karen are fabulous hosts and breakfasts are fabulous , nothing too much trouble. Loved the runner ducks and the chickens. Weather wasn’t kind to us but we can’t choose the weather especially in late December.

  Excellent

Well what can I say other than what a fabulous place you have at The Dinney, although you probably know that already. I had high expectations for the accommodation at The Rookery and, oh boy, I was not disappointed at all, in fact my expectations were more than exceeded. The Rookery is perfect, well appointed, spacious, comfortable accommodation up there with the best of them. As a group of 15, we couldn’t have asked for more to make our celebrations so special, well done to the team at The Dinney.

Stunning venue and wonderful friendly hosts

Absolutely stunning venue and the friendliest hosts you could ever hope to meet, nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation was stunning and absolutely spotless with incredible views from the whole site. Breakfast was absolutely delicious, very high quality food and cooked to perfection. Thank you for an incredible stay, I'll definitely be recommending your beautiful B&B to my friends and family.

Great place to stay for a big family group

We needed a place to stay for a family celebration and holiday. We found The Rookery to be ideal. With nine bedrooms all with really good quality en suite facilities, everyone was very happy with their accommodation. Set in beautiful, peaceful countryside some older family members were able to relax and enjoy the location while others were able to go to some of the nearby visitor attractions. On the week we stayed the weather was excellent and most of our party enjoyed at least one walk from the site. Had the weather not been so kind it was nice to see the table tennis table and table football provided as well as books and indoor games. Had our party included children I am sure the small football field would have been a great attraction.
The kitchen and shower rooms were all extremely well equipped with high quality fittings and accessories, and the beds were very comfortable too!

  Simply the best

We celebrated our wedding weekend at the nearby Mill Barns and stayed at the Dinneys with 50 of our friends. Anyone getting married in the area, look no further. Nothing was too much and it absolutely made our weekend. Stunning rooms, amazing views fully stocked houses. We have all said we are going to try and make an annual trip back there. Massive thank you to The Dinneys team and see you again soon.

  5 star, amazing find

Everything about this accommodation was five star. We holiday several times a year here in the UK with our dogs this place is hard to beat. 😍Great location, walks from the door, views. Beautiful decor akin to being in a show home.🤩 Spacious immaculate, very modern appliances in kitchen and bathroom. We stayed one night to break our journey to South Wales but will definitely try to make a repeat visit, this accommodation is worth planning a holiday around. We had plenty of room a hall a living/dining area, kitchen, bedroom and big beautiful shower room. All just amazing. Breakfast was delicious, full English with cereals yoghurt and fresh fruit to start. A real treat in a beautiful light filled dining room with beams and windows out to grounds. We walked from the door, down hill, away from any busy roads to a country house style golf club with the dogs for our evening meal. Ideal as we'd all been in the car long enough. Dogs were allowed in the terrace and also in small area near the bar.

  Superb bed & breakfast

My friend and I stayed here for 3 nights recently. We have been going on an annual ‘boys outing’ for nearly 20 years now and we both agreed that this was without doubt the best b&b we’ve stayed in in all that time. Great location, excellent rooms, super breakfasts, wonderful host. I highly recommend The Dinney.

About us

The Dinney is a family-run business with good old-fashioned hospitality at its heart. We’ve been welcoming guests to our home in Shropshire for more than 30 years and we offer a relaxed, personal service that keeps our guests returning again and again.

Originally a dairy farm, today The Dinney is run by Karen, whose parents, Sam and Margaret, started the business in the 1990s. Back then, they converted a traditional tithe barn into three cottages called Cart, Duck and Drake. Over the years, these have been joined by two larger cottages, Kingfisher, sleeping 14, and The Rookery, which sleeps 20.

The cottages and farmhouse b&b are surrounded by 150 acres of private farmland, where sheep, cattle and horses graze peacefully, while hens and ducks enjoy the run of the grounds and Pip, our dog, likes to welcome everyone. The farm operates a ‘Countryside Stewardship scheme’, avoiding intensive farming methods, and giving special attention to the preservation of natural habitats and wildlife. It’s a really special place and we love to share it with you.
